Our Results

During a child’s time at primary school, there are 4 year groups that participate in national testing.

Reception – Teacher Assessment of the 17 different areas of learning. 12 areas from these form an overall judgement of Good Level of Development (GLD).

Year 1 – Phonics Check. Pupils are tested by their class teachers on a nationally produced set of 35 words that test their phonetic understanding and ability to blend sounds to create words. (Should they not pass in Y1, this is repeated in Y2).

Year 4 – Multiplication Check. Pupils are tested online on their times tables. There are 25 questions and they have 6 seconds to answer each one.

Year 6 – Nationally produced tests are administered in Reading, Mathematics and Grammar, Punctuation & Spelling. Teachers also assess the writing of their pupils against national assessment frameworks.
