Sport

A variety of sporting opportunities are offered to pupils at North Heath School which nurture their enthusiasm for an active and healthy lifestyle. This is embedded through a combination of directed PE lessons, after-school club opportunities and integration from outside agencies.

Recognition of Sporting Achievements

The pupils’ sporting achievements (accomplished both inside and outside of school) are a central part of our weekly Honour Book Assembly. Ranging from local Judo competitions to European Irish Dancing championships, the entries recognise and praise our pupils’ participation in school, team and individual sports.

Competitive Opportunities

Athletics – Across all year groups, pupils benefit from competitive sporting opportunities at a school-based level. An annual Sports Day is held for key stage one and key stage two which involves all pupils of all abilities in individual and class events. For our strongest athletes within key stage two, this day acts as valuable preparation for the Years 3 and 4 Quadkids Athletics and the Years 5 and 6 District Sports.

Team and Individual Sports – Across upper key stage two, pupils benefit from an abundance of inter-school sporting opportunities, comprising of locality and county-wide events, and pupils are proud to represent our school in hockey, tag rugby, cricket, rounders and cross country.
