With hockey placed as a main driver in the Year 6 autumn term PE curriculum, pupils rapidly progress in, not only their skill, but passion for the game. Each year, two teams represent our school in a series of three hockey tournaments at Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre. The sportsmanship and skillset instilled in our pupils has helped gain success in recent years, with one of our teams maintaining a strong positioning within the first division throughout all three meets last year.

We achieved victory by working as a team and communicating with each other. As well as this, training was very important and our main drill was an ‘As v Bs’ match followed by constant shots on the keeper. It feels great to win, but better to respect and play the other teams with good sportsmanship.
